Hi Folks, Chester here! I’m happy to be able to share my thoughts on the Chamber Legislative forum last night at NIC. It was so refreshing to be out in public and I enjoyed seeing all of our favorite Politicos duke-ing it out!
By the way, I sat right behind Doo-ane (AKA The Flatulent Photographer or is it The Tapeworm?) Am I the only peoples who think he’s the worlds worst photographer???? Just saying!!!!
I’ll try to keep this short and sweet…. First off, Kudos to the Chamber of Commerce for hosting this event. I really liked the format. It was like sitting in a living room watching the candidates having an intimate conversation. Their true colors shone through and it was quite telling. This is definitely a battle between the real Conservatives and the dark forces (The Reasonable Republicans) who want to keep us in the Statist death spiral we are currently in…
The most exciting point in the night was the Kathy Sims smack-down of Luke “Liberal Lap Dog” Malek (also known as Boo Hoo’s Attack Chihuahua). Luke tried to come to the rescue of Rick Currie and Kathy, with great poise (she’s always a classy lady) snatched little Luke by the ear and slung him to the corner and put a Dunce Cap on him! Whoo-hoo! Kathy’s Conservative punches, energized by her consistent conservative voting record, knocked him OUT!
As for the rest of the Living Room “Guests”…I’ll give a person by person evaluation of their performance:
Eric Redman: Wow, he turned it on last night! Articulate, accurate, positive…he talked about the things that mattered to voters…and main stream Idaho. He didn’t waste time tearing down, he spoke in a direct and positive way about where the legislature needs to spend its energy. I think the living room setting was a great advantage for Eric. He’s a genuinely nice guy and he speaks better in an intimate setting.
Ed Morse: What can I say but…Yada, yada, yada,…Ed never has anything positive to say and when his lips are moving, words come out, but there’s just nothing there. He can thank Ron Vieselmeyer for his narrow defeat of Phil Hart. His House record is about the same as his performance last night…YAWN! He ain’t no conservative, that’s for sure.
Vito Barbieri: Calm, cool, collected…we were impressed with how he would sit back and wait for the mush to stop spewing from Ed and Fritz and then WHAM…let them have it with both barrels of lucid, conservative logic. He’s a proven Conservative who’s earned another term in Boise.
Fritz Wiedenhoff: Zzzzzzzzzzz, zzzzzzzzz, zzzzzzzzz, oh, I’m sorry, did Fritz say something? Oh, he agreed with Ed Morse? Figures….zzzzzzzzzz, zzzzzzzzzz, zzzzzzzzz.
Bob Nonini: Ok, so Bob was a bit distracted, but he made his Mea Culpa over 30 years ago and he has a very long voting record to prove his Conservative bona fides. We’re sick to death of hearing about it! . As ever, when talking about the issues and the facts, he gave a solid performance. (Psssst, he didn’t try to hide is past like somebody else in the race!)
Pat Whalen: Waaaaaa, waaaaaa, I thought I could keep my DUI secret, but I got outed…..waaaaaa, waaaaaaaa. Whalen didn’t have a single thing of substance to say. He offered no plan for anything…seems he’s good at attacking others, but if he has a plan, he certainly didn’t offer it up last night. The main thing to keep in mind is that Pat’s one of them “Reasonable Republicans”…they’re the folks that think everything ok and if we just trust the federal government long enough, they will save us.
Jeff Selle: He’s a smarmy little liberal dweeb and a lousy reporter….Huh? What do you mean he didn’t talk last night? So what, this is my piece…besides he’s the guy what wrote that crappy story in the Press about the forum last night. Bias???? Of course I’m biased! I’m Chester! Hey Jeff, you must have earned a Common Core Journalism Degree.
Ron Mendive: Mr. Ron “The Gentleman” Mendive. What else can I say? He spoke with passion and humility and he’s the only person who actually answered the question about why his resume makes him the better candidate. The fact that Ron cares for his fellow man and his beloved State of Idaho shone throughout last night. Class act Ron, class act!
Jeff Ward: Mouth opened, words came out, nothing changed. Jeff has the political double speak down pat, lots of words, no meaning. One thing we were impressed with, and we hope it’s true, is that Jeff explained his “Tax Mess”. He chalked it up to an accident and we want to believe him. Jeff, you still owe Phil Hart and apology…he’s no more of a tax dodger than you and he went all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States to prove it.
Pat Gfeller: He’s been hanging around Ed Morse too long….Yada, yada, yada. Scorched earth, kill the Conservatives…be “Reasonable” Life is beautiful as long as there are no Conservatives in Boise….Another big YAWN!
Don Cheatham: He wasn’t there because he has the flu….Get well soon Don! If he had been there, we’re confident he would have articulated his Conservativeness with ease!
Terry Werner: Who? Was there a Terry Werner there? Hey Selle, did you see Terry Werner there? Must not have made much of an impression. Oh, he’s the guy who’s spent a good part of his professional life on at the public trough and now he wants more. Hmmmmmm, interesting.
Mary Souza: Intelligent, Articulate, Government “doesn’t create jobs” Conservative, (best applause of night for that one). Mary will make a great addition to the Conservative team in Boise!
John Goedde: I have to been honest, that the glare from John’s suit was so blinding that I didn’t hear much of what he said. However, I’ve examined his voting record and wonder why he keeps pretending he’s a Conservative (or even a Republican for that matter)?
Kathy Sims: Even without her Luke Malek smack down, Kathy was an impressive part of the forum. Like Mary, she’s intelligent, articulate and has proven business and voting records to show she’s qualified. (Hey, Kathy, can Luke take the Dunce Cap off yet????)
Rick Currie: Well, how can I put this nicely???? Have you ever seen a blob of partially solid, pale blue jello on a plate? We will give him this much, Rick looked horrified when Malek tried to play attack dog for him with Kathy Sims…especially when Luke went yelping to the corner.
Toby Schindelbeck: Dude! We’re impressed….you were smoking! Brain and Brawn….who knew? Toby showed his mastery of the issues and facts and proved he’d be no shill for any special interest groups. We’d dare to say that Toby’s Conservativeness matched anyone on the stage last night. (Maybe you could take Luke to the gym and Pump Him Up!)
Luke Malek: Well, its hard not to poke fun at Luke…maybe he can’t help it because he was born with a Silver Spoon in his mouth???? Well Luke, you get an F for Attack Dog ability last night. You get an A for Liberal Lap Dog last night. We know you are proud of the fact that you spear headed the Idaho Exchange efforts, against the wishes of the voters of Idaho, but the final story is not yet written on that debacle. We hope you get the full credit you deserve Luke…..By the way….Kathy says you can take the Dunce Cap off now! (P.S. The beard…really??? It just looks silly!)
The Knucklehead Award of the night goes to…..Mike Patrick….You should have just let it go Mike, you wasted our time having to listen to Wailing Whalen about his DUI and make Bob talk, for the gazillionth time about his case that WAS DISMISSED….Folks couldn’t care less about minor peccadillos from years gone by…stick to the issues next time. Better yet, don’t go next time…your time would be better spent giving Jeff Selle remedial Journalism instructions….
Until next time folks…
Keep it Conservative,
Chester Jester
