Wolfie Reviews Sheriff Candidates

Our take on the Ben WolfingerResearch and Opinion” piece in the Cd’A Press?

It’s a free campaign ad for Kim Edmondson! (Note the thumbnail image for the article links in web searches highlight her photo.) First of all, we don’t believe that Ben wrote this bit. Don’t take us the wrong way. Ben is a smart and articulate guy who is well versed in the art of spin. He’s a lobbyist and trained Media “Personality.” It’s just that well, this is a propaganda piece and needed the polish of a seasoned propagandist. Mike Patrick? He would be our guess. (His specter is oozing from this piece.)

In any event, here’s our take:

Kim Edmondson – The CDA Press likes her. She’d be a novelty and controllable.Kim would be the darling of the liberal set that controls Coeur d’Alene. In our view, Kim’s weakness is that we have no evidence that she can perform on her own. She’s been a “do what you’re told” deputy for her entire career. If she’s weak, we have no way to know until she’s in and disappoints us all. The fact that Ben is on his way out because he’s done a horrible job and has cost the county and will continue to require huge bucks due to his missteps. What will the final cost of the Dan Soumas affair be? What part did Kim play in it? Stay tuned, Chuckleheads, and taxpayers, we’re going to find out.

John Grimm – We have to admit that of all the candidates, Ben comes closest to getting this one right. We comment that John Grimm is a good guy, a smart businessman, and if, the big if, he could get an undersheriff that was top-notch, he might be able to pull off being a pretty decent Sheriff. (John Grimm is no John Green, though…which is what Larry the Lizard wants people to believe.)

Robert Norris – He has money, he has the experience, he has some of the C’dA Cabal supporting him, But…he’s from California. Really? Would we really not vote for a guy because he’s from California? That’s the position of really “low information” (aka ignorant) voters. Not don’t get us wrong, we’re not Bob Norris fans. One alarm bell for us was his statement that he wants to “limit growth” in Kootenai County. Say what, Bob????? Limit growth???? The Sheriff, no government official for that matter, has the authority to limit growth. You’re for the Constitution, or you’re not! You’re for Capitalism and the Free Market, or you’re not! That is the main reason we can’t jump on your bandwagon. Too many unknowns, although we admit you probably have the experience and intelligence to be a competent Sheriff. We also wonder how much you would be under the control of those people that are supporting you. We don’t get the idea that you are a “Constitutional Maverick”.

Richard Whitehead — First off, shame on “Ben” for trashing the reputation of two excellent organizations and their 1st Amendment Rights. (John Green speaks highly of both the Oath Keepers and CSPOA) However, as far as Rick is concerned, we can’t support him. Mainly because we can’t believe anything he says. Rick has become a master at figuring out what people want to hear and then morphing his “position” to take advantage of people’s emotional response concerning many issues.

Furthermore, this is the good “Christian” guy that has had 4 “wives.” This is the good “conservative” who claims he didn’t even know what a Precinct Committeeman was until a couple of years ago? This is the good “Republican” who alternately claims to have helped get the only Republican Sheriff elected in Travis County, Texas, and then proudly boasts that he helped get him booted from office? (Rick, this was very selfish of you and you should come clean about it.) Finally, though this list is by no means exhaustive, Rick has no respect for Life and doesn’t agree with the most fundamental truth enshrined in our Declaration of Independence, which is that ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL…and that they are endowed by God with the Right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Rick thinks it’s okay to kill innocent babies in their mothers’ wombs, out of “compassion” for the mother. If he waffles on Life, he’ll waffle on anything. Rick Whitehead is no John Green, you’ve been duped to believe he is a good alternative. (Sorry, Jeff Tyler, we love you, but you’ve been bamboozled.)

Which brings us to our conclusion…

The best candidate for the office of Sheriff of Kootenai County is not on the Ballot…yet. We’re hoping that changes, but in the meantime, we all are going to write in

JOHN GREEN for Sheriff!

It’s not a “wasted vote”; it’s a vote for Principle!

  1. I find it interesting that you make disparaging staments about Richard but fail to mention any of his experience, his training, his selected under sherif or his leadership abilities. Also worthy of note is that while saying you didn’t support certain other candidates you managed to weave their qualifications into the narrative and go further by denigrating those who would not vote for them. While you lavish reflected praise on John Green you don’t mention that he is a convicted felon and thereby barred from being a sheriff. While I often find your articles informative you have really missed the mark here.

  2. Sorry, Gunsmith, you missed the point. But we’ll make a few points about your points. If people don’t know Rick’s qualifications by now, he’s done a pretty poor job of campaigning. His experience and training are not at issue in our book. His selection of Under Sheriff does not impress us. His “leadership” abilities are far from established. That Rick is a “legend in his own mind” is quite clear. If you have found our articles informative in the past, great. However, we are an opinion/parody Blog, nothing more. Does he have experience and training? No doubt he does. We don’t support Rick because we don’t trust Rick. He’s waffled on just about every position he’s taken, publicly, and as we said, he has developed a knack for figuring out what people want to hear and spewing it to those who are too lazy to vet him completely. (Kind of like why we don’t trust Alex Barron.)

Now, with regard to John Green. Show us a “Judgement of Conviction” signed by a Judge and then we’ll agree that there is a conviction. (We don’t believe John broke any law, but that’s for another day.) Until then, we’re going to follow and uphold the rule of law. John Green should be on the ballot, period! We’re praying he will be fully exonerated and look forward to the day when we have him, or someone of his absolute integrity, high principles, and honesty, as our Sheriff.

    Yours truly,

    Chester
